Bleeding Gums

Do your gums ever bleed when you brush or floss your teeth?  If so, you are not alone; nearly 60% of people have experienced bleeding gums.  There is no real need to panic if you notice bleeding gums.  However, it is important to remember that it is not normal and steps should be taken to prevent the progression of bleeding gums, which could be a sign of gum disease.  At Lasting Smiles of Willow Grove, we offer a variety of dental services and treatments that address bleeding gums.

Bleeding gums should serve as a reminder that your current oral health routine needs to be addressed.  First of all, be sure that you are brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing once a day.  It is also important to attend regular dental check-ups and cleanings so that your dentist can keep your gums and teeth healthy.  If you experience bleeding gums over a prolonged period of time, do not wait for your next routine dental appointment to address these concerns.  Be sure to call us right away to be seen to address this issue.
